Toys For Tots Named Non-Profit Partner For Dillard-Jones Builders' 2010 Southern Living Showcase Home

Dillard-Jones Builders has named the Toys For Tots Foundation the non-profit partner for its 2010 Southern Living® Showcase Home now under construction in the Claremont community of Greenville. The 2010 Showcase Home will be open to the public Fridays through Sundays from Nov. 5 until Dec. 19. There is no admission charge to tour the home, but visitors may bring a new, unwrapped toy that will be donated to underprivileged families in the Upstate region of South Carolina. Toys collected at the 2010 Showcase Home will be part of the Toys For Tots annual toy drive sponsored by WSSL-FM, a Clear Channel station.    

“We’re very excited to have Dillard-Jones Builders join our effort to collect Christmas gifts for the less fortunate children in our community,” said Leigh Ann DeYoung, sales and promotions manager for Clear Channel Media. “The 2010 Southern Living Showcase Home is a terrific addition to our drop-off locations and the perfect fit for our holiday toy drive promotion.”

A 501(c) (3) not-for-profit program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve since 1991, Toys For Tots collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

Southern Living Showcase Home tour hours are 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Fridays and Sundays, and 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturdays. Toys For Tots collection barrels will be at the Showcase Home from Nov. 5 until Dec. 19. The 2010 Showcase Home will be the third Southern Living program home built by Dillard-Jones since being named a member of the Southern Living Custom Builder Program in 2006. In 2009, the Upstate homebuilder was named Southern Living’s Custom Builder of the Year for its successful presentation of the 2008 Southern Living Holiday Showcase Home in Tuscany Falls.
