Our Standards

At Dillard-Jones Builders, we combine proven products with individual designs to create a custom built home that is healthy, sustainable and distinctive. Our low maintenance exteriors, sustainable roofs, and engineered basements are just a few of the standard features that allow you to spend time enjoying your home rather than servicing it.

A Better Design

Beginning with site selection and optimized house location, we design elevations and floor plans that enhance the natural beauty of your property, the view from your lot, and the livability of your home. From family friendly design to custom luxury homes, we manage all of the details for your individual needs and lifestyle.

Another example of our eye for detail is an initial walk-through with each customer to place lighting fixtures and controls, and electrical outlets to fit individual needs and lifestyles.

A Better Building Experience

At Dillard-Jones Builders, we believe the building process should be as enjoyable as the finished product. Susan Peace-Vernon, our full-time customer advocate, is part of our commitment to customer care and to exceeding customer expectations every time. A professionally trained interior designer, Susan hails from a homebuilding family, which gives her a working knowledge of the critical relationship between construction engineering, space planning and interior design. Susan serves as your daily communications link to suppliers and specialty contractors, and always is available to assist with color and style selections, budgeting and quality control.

A Quieter Home

Silent floor systems, acoustic insulation, and quiet plumbing systems are just a few of the features that make a Dillard-Jones Builders custom home more sound, comfortable, and efficient.

A Stronger Home

All Dillard-Jones homes feature high-performance I-joists that are stronger pound for pound, straighter, and more reliable than traditional lumber. These superior I-joists also have reduced moisture content for floors with fewer pops and squeaks.

A Safer Home

All Dillard-Jones homes are pre-wired for security systems. We also design and install a variety of wired and wireless technologies for safety, comfort, and home entertainment. Tailored packages include home theaters, whole house audio, paging/front door intercom from any phone, irrigation control, and thermostat/lighting control.

A Low-Maintenance Home

Dillard-Jones Builders uses exteriors such natural stone, PastelCote™ Cote, integrated color stucco and James Hardie products for a virtually maintenance-free exterior. We also use slate and other high-performance materials for roofs that last 30 to 40 years.

An ENERGY STAR® Home

Dillard-Jones Builders has adopted ENERGY STAR® standards for all new construction. Homes that earn the ENERGY STAR® rating must meet guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. ENERGY STAR® qualified homes are at least 15 percent more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20-30% more efficient than standard homes. ENERGY STAR® qualified homes can include a variety of energy-efficient features, such as effective insulation, high performance windows, tight construction and ducts, efficient heating and cooling equipment, and ENERGY STAR® qualified lighting and appliances.

A Better Location

Located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains halfway between Atlanta and Charlotte on the I-85 corridor, the Upstate region of South Carolina combines a picturesque landscape with a variety of metropolitan conveniences. This Upcountry region of The Palmetto State is well suited to a variety of outdoor activities. There are outstanding lakes and rivers for boating, swimming and rafting, with numerous mountain trails and winding country roads awaiting hiking and biking enthusiasts. Golf is a favorite pastime with milder temperatures making it a virtual year-round sport. Championship golf courses designed by renowned architects and PGA pros such as Gary Player, Tom Jackson and Jack Nicklaus dot the Upstate landscape.

For those more suited to spectator sports, the Upstate boasts an award-winning ballpark in downtown Greenville that is home to the Greenville Drive, the South Atlantic League's Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Football fans can enjoy competitive contests on Saturdays during the fall at nearby Clemson and Furman Universities, and during the spring at the BI-LO Center in downtown Greenville watching the Greenville Force, the city's arena football team.

For history buffs, the Upstate has an abundance of historic sites including those that played notable roles in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. The new Upcountry History Museum in downtown Greenville chronicles life in the Upstate from its beginnings as an agricultural community to the Textile Capital of the World to what is now considered a major hub for automotive manufacturing and research.
