Dillard-Jones Builds House For Santa

Dillard-Jones Builders has completed a new workshop for Santa Claus as part of the 2009 PET Dairy Celebration of Lights to be held November 26 - December 26 at the Upper South Carolina State Fairgrounds. The one-mile animated holiday light show features more than a million lights and 45 holiday scenes measuring 40 feet tall and more than 100 feet wide.

Santa's Workshop is part of Santa's Village, a new feature at the Celebration of Lights, that includes an ice skating rink. Designed by Ken DeYoung of Classic By Design Inc., Santa's house features a 16:12 pitch roof covered with galvanized metal, a stone chimney, custom-made shutters and a finished interior.

"Dillard-Jones has built some great custom homes, but it's hard to top building a house for Santa," said Thomas Dillard, president of Dillard-Jones Builders, the 2009 Southern Living Custom Builder of the Year. "We're delighted to take part in the excitement of the 2009 PET Dairy Celebration of Lights. We hope kids of all ages get a lot of enjoyment from it."

Dillard-Jones Builders' vendor partners that contributed to the construction of Santa's workshop are: Classic By Design Inc., Allcon Roofing, Allstate Electrical Services, Ancil Shrum, D&S Drywall, GBS Lumber and Samson Stone.
