Dillard-Jones Builders' 2010 Southern Living Showcase Home in Claremont welcomed almost 6,000 visitors and earned Dillard-Jones Builders the 2011 Southern Living Custom Builder Member of the Year award.
The Showcase Home design is a custom floor plan by Johnston Design Group, LLC of Greenville - a nationally recognized leader in sustainable architecture. A LEED For Homes project, the house was designed and built for ‘green’ certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. It also will be incorporated into the Southern Living collection of national house plans as the Custom Builder Program’s first collaborative design/build project.
The 4,200-square-foot home is an open floor plan with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Special features include a chef’s kitchen, media room, study, laundry room with hobby space, and outdoor living space that includes a screened porch, outdoor fireplace and outdoor cooking area. The connection between the home’s indoor and outdoor spaces, along with the intent to bring the outdoors inside, plays an important role in creating a home that promotes a healthy living environment.
