Dillard-Jones Builders' 2008 Southern Living Custom Builder Member Show House in Tuscany Falls welcomed 3,500 visitors and earned Dillard-Jones Builders the 2009 Southern Living Custom Builder Member of the Year award.
The Southern Living floor plan selected for the 2008 Showhouse is Walker's Bluff by residential designer Rick Gary. who says his mission was to capture innovative architectural and design details. As a result, rooms are defined more by unique elements and accents rather than by size. This four bedroom, four bathroom home features 4,100 square feet of distinctive, comfortable living spaces.

Bonus Room
A 16’ x 16’ upper level bonus room features custom cabinets with juparana crèma granite countertops, and a built-in refrigerator. This room has a balcony that overlooks the foyer. Balcony ironwork has a custom balustrade that features a hand-hammered Palmetto tree.

An upper level outdoor balcony with seating area is accessed from this room via French doors. The floor of the balcony is Tigerwood Decking, a durable hardwood that is naturally resistant to decay and has a 25-year lifespan.
Breakfast Room
A 10’ x 10’ breakfast room off the kitchen features windowed walls on two sides, with back windows overlooking the back terrace.
Butler's Pantry
The Butler’s pantry features black rubbed cabinetry and a granite countertop. It is located adjacent to the kitchen and the wine closet.
Children's Bedroom
Walker’s Bluff has three second-level bedrooms, two measuring 12’ x 15’ and one measuring 12’ x 13’. This bedroom has functioning French doors, and a walk-in closet. It adjoins a second bedroom via a Jack-and-Jill bathroom.
Dining Room
The dining room at Walker’s Bluff has a coffered ceiling – a Dillard-Jones Builders signature feature – and Judges paneling. The 12’ x 15’ open dining room is accessible from the foyer and from the hallway that leads to the Butler’s pantry.
Exterior
The exterior of Walker’s Bluff features a PastelCote® brick finishing system by Boral Bricks. PastelCote is applied by hand in a single coat over PastelBrik, a specially treated and surfaced brick that has been reformulated to provide easier touch-ups and improved color uniformity. The roof is natural slate installed over a Sharkskin Roofing System - a 100% polypropylene product with a 12-month UV exposure rating designed for long-term moisture protection and durability. The front entrance of Walker’s Bluff features a cedar pergola and corbels that were hand cut in place, and full dimensional Keowee and Ashlar stone.

Landscape architects designed the backyard patio in an arched style to match the house, centering it between the rear windows of the home.
Exterior - Back Terrace
The back deck at Walker's Bluff includes a covered terrace off the breakfast room and an upper level balcony off the bonus room. The back terrace features Tigerwood Decking, a durable hardwood that is naturally resistant to decay and has a 25-year lifespan.
Family Room
The family room at Walker's Bluff features a natural stone fireplace. High windows overlook the outdoor terrace on one side and the outdoor patio on another.
Family Room Ceiling
The family room at Walker's Bluff features a vaulted barrel ceiling crafted from cypress wood, and transom windows.
Foyer
Walker’s Bluff features a two-story foyer with a hardwood and slate entryway. Lower-level flooring is five-inch Red Oak hardwoods finished in place. A Provincial stain matte finish was applied, and then topped with three coats of a water-based polyurethane to create highly durable flooring. The front door has seeded glass.
Kitchen
The spacious 16’ x 16’ kitchen at Walker’s Bluff features a mix of cherry cabinets and rubbed black cabinetry on the island. Granite countertops are yellow humatia.
Kitchen - Appliances
Stainless steel appliances are from the KitchenAid® Professional Series and are ENERGY STAR® rated. The mirrored tile backsplash features a Kohler pot filler.
Learning Center
An 11’ x 13’ loft area connects the upper level foyer to the media room. This area has inset walls offering a perfect spot for desks and computers.
Master Bathroom
The spacious master bathroom includes a large tiled shower, garden tub, and a separate toilet with pocket door. Cabinets are faux finished to achieve a classic, sophisticated style, and granite countertops are cosmic black. A large walk-in closet off the master bathroom features a custom melamine closet system.
Master Bedroom
The master suite is on the main level of Walker’s Bluff immediately off the family room and kitchen. The master bedroom measures 19’ x 14’ and features a tray ceiling with a six-light chandelier.

High windows on the back wall of the master bedroom overlook the backyard patio and fireplace.
Study - Bookcases
The high-ceilinged study features two-story built-in bookcases. The home’s front terrace is accessed from the study via French doors. A short hallway off the study leads to a lower level powder room with shower.

The study features transom windows above the French doors leading to the terrace, and above long windows on the adjacent wall of the room.
