Dillard-Jones Builders premiered its first Southern Living Custom Builder Showcase Home in 2007. This 4,200-square-foot house
in the Griffith Farm community of Greer, SC welcomed 2,500 visitors,
and received five 'Best' honors in the 2007 Tour of New Homes Awards
including Best Floor Plan, Best Landscaping, Best Interior
Merchandising, Best Kitchen and Best Master Bath.
The house is Southern Living's Hazelwood
Ridge plan designed by Frank Betz & Associates. It
features a two-story foyer, four bedrooms, three-and-one-half
bathrooms, double- and single-car garages, and expansive outdoor living
space including a sleeping porch, deck and backyard pergola.

Breakfast Room
The 12' x 12' breakfast room features a pine tongue and groove cathedral ceiling.
Oak hardwood floors were finished in place with a Provincial matte
finish. The breakfast area features a wide base cap with shoe molding,
and RB3 casement molding at the window. The breakfast area adjoins the
kitchen and has a door leading to the outside deck. The audio control
panel for the deck is beside this door.
Dining Room

The formal dining room is offset from the home's two-story foyer and
lower-level hallway by four decorative square columns. The dining room
measures 15' x 12' and features an elegant nine-foot coffered ceiling.
Oak hardwood floors were finished in place with a Provincial matte
finish. Moldings include a chair-rail with wainscoting, wide base
molding, and RB3 casement molding at the window.
Exterior

The exterior of the house features a cultured stone and brick veneer
painted with a Boral Brick Pastelcote™ finish. PastelCote™ combines the
strength and durability of brick wall construction with a cement-like
coating for a unique, textured look in one solid color. PastelCote™ is
virtually maintenance-free and features a 25-year warranty.
Other exterior features include architectural shingles, custom-made shutters, and
double- and single-car garages with a side entry carriage door. This
beautifully landscaped home is equipped with an underground sprinkler
system, and its circular driveway adds to the home's curb appeal.
The house also features dual
Lennox gas furnaces and thermal high-efficiency Pella® tilt-out windows,
and is smart wired with central junction and CAT 5 wiring with eight
rooms of audio.
Great Room

The Great Room offers a dramatic first impression to Hazelwood Ridge. The 18' x
18' family room features a vaulted ceiling and large windows with
dormers on either side of the room's stone fireplace. The
remote-controlled gas fireplace is two-sided, with the opposite side
facing the back deck. Oak hardwood floors were finished in place with a
Provincial matte finish. The great room also features RB3 casement
molding and a wide base cap. This room also has an audio control panel.
Keeping Room

The Keeping Room in early Colonial homes was not only a kitchen, rather
the heart of the home where families gathered to eat, converse, and
share the experiences of the day. The Keeping Room in today's home is
still the gathering spot for friends and family, and the perfect spot
when entertaining.
The Keeping Room measures 16' x 13' with a nine-foot ceiling. Oak hardwood
floors were finished in place with a Provincial matte finish. The room
features RB3 casement molding at the window and thick crown molding.
Kitchen

A spacious kitchen with adjoining breakfast room and keeping room make
this area of the Southern Living® Tour House the perfect family
gathering spot. Custom kitchen features include oak hardwood flooring
that was finished in place with a Provincial matte finish. Cabinets are
custom stained, countertops are Tropic Brown granite, and the sink is
MoenStone Granite Composite Stone. Appliances include a GE Profile
Series refrigerator, and gas range with wall-mounted microwave and
dishwasher by Frigidaire. The kitchen size is 14' x 12' and the ceiling
height is 9'. The kitchen features an audio panel to control listening
selections and sound in this portion of the home.
Master Bathroom

The master bathroom features a cathedral ceiling with a hand painted
skyscape mural. This luxurious bathroom has a long granite countertop
with double sinks, and ceramic tile flooring. The shower features
ceramic tile and Kohler® multi-heads, and the garden tub is a jetted
whirlpool. The window over the tub is glass block. The master bathroom
also houses his and her closets, and a separate room with door for the
toilet.
Master Bedroom with Sleeping Porch

The master suite features a 17' x 14' bedroom that adjoins a screened sleeping
porch. The carpeted bedroom with faux finished walls features a
nine-foot, double boxed tray ceiling, thick crown molding, and RB3
casement molding around windows and French doors that lead to the
sleeping porch. The sleeping porch features a pine tongue and groove
vaulted ceiling, and ceiling fan. The audio control panel that controls
listening selections and sound for the sleeping porch is located to the
right of the French doors in the master bedroom.
Media Room

The Media Room of features distressed hickory wide-plank hardwood flooring by
Armstrong® and carpet on the raised seating platform. Walls are custom
Italian plaster. The media room measures 18' x 14' and has a nine-foot
ceiling with ceiling fan. Base molding is wide base and window molding
is RB3 casement. The media room is equipped with Dolby 7.1 Surround
Sound and a 96" plasma screen.
Study

The study is located
to the left of the front door at the base of the foyer staircase. This
room's stone fireplace and cathedral ceiling with stained tongue and
groove accents and cross beams make this a comfortable spot for reading
or relaxing. The fireplace has a decorative mantel and the gas logs can
be turned on and off by a switch at the right of the fireplace. Oak
hardwood floors were finished in place with a Provincial matte finish
and walls are finished with a faux Old World waxed paint. This restful
space features windows on either side of the fireplace and a third
window all with RB3 casements. Floor molding in the study is wide base.
The study measures 13' x 12'.
Two-Story Foyer

This home's two-story foyer offers a dramatic entrance to Hazelwood Ridge. The foyer
features a handsome staircase with custom-designed and manufactured
wrought iron spindles. The foyer features a scenic landing with windows
high over the front door.
Upper Level Bedrooms
This custom-built home by Dillard-Jones Builders has three second-story
bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms share a Jack And Jill bathroom, and the
third bedroom has an individual bathroom. All upper level bedrooms have
eight-foot ceilings. All are carpeted with base molding and RB3
casement around windows. All second-story bedrooms have ceiling fans.
